Over 50 Years of Dedication

The success is possible because of the extraordinary dedication of each of our employees — our extended family. In our 54-year history, we count no less than 35 employees with 10 or more years of service, 12 of those with over 30 years at Franks Mechanical.

With that level of job stability and longevity, it is no wonder many of our employees have brought aboard other members of their families; fathers, brothers, nephews, cousins and even those related by marriage. We are proud to boast no less than 18 extended families who have worked at Franks Mechanical. A recent informal review revealed that one family has 34 members as current or past employees here.

In our 54 years, our family is proud to boast many milestones. Our founders, Frank Lucchese and Norman Gotteiner, endured many growing pains as the company went from operating out of a family garage and station wagon, to a 12,000 square foot facility on Belmont Avenue in Franklin Park.

Project size and visibility grew accordingly as the company name changed in 1971 from Franks Plumbing, Inc. to Franks Mechanical Contractors, Inc. Subdivisions, nursing homes, hotels and apartment buildings were our markets in the '70s and '80s. In the '90s we experienced a smooth transition to a new generation of leadership. This coincided with the condominium and loft conversion market heating up. We finished the decade with completion of our most prominent project — the 1998-99 conversion of Randolph Place in Chicago. It had the distinction of being the largest loft conversion in the United States with 332 condominiums.

Today, under the leadership of Craig Campeglia and Sherry Gotteiner Rundell, Franks Mechanical Contractors, Inc. continues to thrive in our 16,000 square foot custom designed facility in Elk Grove Village. Large commercial projects, ranging from multi-family housing, hotels and offices continue to be our area of expertise.

Our founding principles: Provide the highest quality service and exceed the customer's expectations in every aspect of our business — are as true today as they were 54 years ago. We know this formula will continue for generations to come.
